ABSTRACT

Objective To study their efficacy and safety of combining usage of chemotherapy and intrapleural injection with brucea javanica oil in treatment of malignant pleural effusion (MPE).Methods 90 NSCLC patients with MPE in Nanjing Chest Hospital between February 2012 and October 2016 were randomly divided into control and treatment group.Subjects in control group were treated with chemotherapy, while those in treatment group were chemotherapy plus intrapleural injection with brucea javanica oil. Both clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared. Results By Combining usage of brucea javanica oil,the treatment group has higher effective rate (86.67% vs 64.44%),lower pathology rate than control groups (P <0.05).The main toxicity, matological toxicity, gastrointestinal tract side reaction fever and chest pain was tolerated. There was no significant difference between two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion Combining usage of brucea javanica oil and chemotherapy in treatment of MPE was safe and effective, which can remarkably inhibit the growth of tumor, promote pleural adhesions and relief symptom.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To develop a new method of gas chromatography for simultaneously determining curcumol contentin and β-elemene in Zedoary Turmeric Oil.METHODS:Separation and quantification were achieved on a quartz capillary column(30 m×0.32 mm)of PEG with a column temperature gradient from 80℃(holding for 7 min)to 140℃ at a rate of 20℃/min,holding for 15 min, taking N2 as loader. The temperature for gasification was 210℃;the temperature for detection was 200℃;the compressive stress of column was 0.27 MPa.RESULTS:Under the optimal chromatographic conditions, the linear range of curcumol contentin was within 0.230 5-3.23 mg/mL and the linear range of the β-elemene was within 0.237 5-3.33 mg/mL.The average recovery of curcumol contentin was 100.4% with a relative standard deviation(RSD)of 1.1% and β-elemene was 100.2% with a RSD of 2.2%.CONCLUSION:The results show that it is a simple, rapid, accurate and sensitive method which is suitable for analysis of complex component(curcumol contentin and β-elemene)in Zedoary Turmeric Oil at the same time.

ABSTRACT

Objective Studing the relationship among matrixmetal-loproteinnse2 (MMP2), the tissue inhibitors of metalloprotein-ase2 (TIMP2) and chnicopathological characteristics such as histological grade, clinicopathological stage of the rectal cancer. Assessing the significance of MMP2 and TIMP2 expression in rec-tal cancer for prognosis and treatment. Methods To test the expression level of MMP2 and TIMP2 in rectal caneer patients with immunohistochemisty method. Results were analysised with χ2 test. The Kaplan-Meier (Log-rank test) was used for univariate survival analysis. Results The positive rates of MMP2 and T1MP2 ex-pression in rectal cance are higher in comparison with normal tissues. With MMP2 have a trendence of increas-ing the positive expression of TIMP2 decreases. Conclusion MMP2 and TIMP2 relate obviously with the clini-copathological character of the rectal cancer. They may play an important role in the proliferation, invasion and of the cancer. Testing the level of expression of MMP2 and TIMP2 may be helpful to prejudge the prognosis of the patients with rectal cancer. Some new therapic methods relating to MMP2 and TIMP2 may give patients with rectal cancer a more satisfying treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship between benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) andchronic prostatitis(CP). Methods Three hundred BPH patients were studied, aged from 51 to 96 (aver-age 72). All patients were divided into 3 groups (Ⅰ°、Ⅱ°and Ⅲ°)according to result of digital rectal examina-tion, which include 85 cases , 139 cases and 76 cases respectively. The incidence of CP among 3 groups were compared and analyzed. Results Two hundreds and thirty-five of the 300 cases with BPH were accompa-nied with CP(77.7%). Among the 233 cases, 53 cases were in Ⅰ degree BPH group (53 / 85, 62.4% ), 113 cases were in Ⅱ degree BPH group (113/139, 81.3%), 67 cases were in Ⅲ degree BPH group (67/76, 88.2%). Conclusions Many BPH patients were accompanied by CP. The prostate size and the inflamma-tion of prostate were positive correlated. The effect of anti-inflammatory treatment in Ⅰ degree and Ⅱ degreeBPH patients was better than Ⅲ degree BPH patients.

ABSTRACT

To study the effect of the osmotic stress in the microenvironment on the growth and metabolism of the encapsulated cells under aerobic condition, Osmo-sensitive yeast Y02724 and high-osmotic resistant yeast Hansel were used as models to explore the growth and metabolism state of the cells cultivated inalginate-chitosan-alginate (ACA) microcapsules. The changes of the yeast cells' specific growth rate, maximum product quantity and the secretion of ethanol and glycerol were analyzed. For Y02724, the yield of ethanol was increased in the ACA microenvironment compared to suspension cultivation. For Hansel, the maximum growth speed of microencapsulated cultivation had no obvious difference compared to the suspension cultivation. Moreover, after encapsulation, the production of glycerol was decreased for both Y02724 and Hansel compared to suspension cultivation. In conclusion, osmotic stress existed in the ACA microcapsules and affected the growth and metabolism of the cells.

ABSTRACT

AIM To study the changes of IgE, IL-4 and IFN-y in serum and pulmonary tissue homogenate of asthmatic guinea pigs and the effects of scoparone on them. METHODS To divide animals into three groups: control, asthma and scoparone treatment groups. Choose the model guinea pigs of asthma sensitized with OA, and observe the changes of IgE, IL-4 and IFN-r in serum and pulmonary tissue homogenate of asthmatic guinea pigs and the effects of scoparone on them by means of chemolumi nescence, radio immunoassay, enzyme-linked immunoabsordent assay. RESULTS IgE and IL-4 in serum and pulmonary tissue homoge-nate of asthmatic guinea pigs obviously increase (P
